African Liberal Network General Assembly

During 13 -15 February 2020, the Africa Liberal Network concluded the 16th Annual GeneralAssembly #ALN2020GA in Ouagadougou Burkina Faso. Themed Peace and Stability forSocial and Economic Development, delegates and guests were hosted in BurkinaFaso by the network member parties ADF-RDA Officiel, UPC - Union pour leProgrès et le Changement and Le Faso Autrement. The African Liberal Network isstrategically sponsored by VVD International, D66 International and theFriedrich Naumann Foundation in Africa.

The AfricaLiberal Network was launched in June 2003, as an alliance of liberal democraticpolitical parties. The network is an associate regional organisation of LiberalInternational, the global federation of liberal democratic political parties,organisations, networks, think-tanks and individuals. The network’s vision isthat of a prosperous and integrated Africa, of flourishing democracies, thatare at peace with one another, in which every person has the right andopportunity to fulfil their highest, truest expression of yourself as a humanbeing.

The GeneralAssembly was visited by a large number of delegates from different African liberalparties. Besides their mandatory gatherings in different committees, Executivecommittee and General Assembly, the delegates also participated in a trainingfacilitated by VVD International and D66 International themed: Initiating,Monitoring and Managing Coalition Partners. Both trainers Jan Paternotte (D66)and Martijn Bolkestein (VVD) gave their visions on coalition management.
